Current Projects

Inhibitors of CLK and DYRK kinases, two closely related classes of the CMGC kinase family, have recently been gaining interest as promising compounds in the treatment of cancer and inflammation. This is due to their influence on multiple cellular processes, including WNT-signaling, STAT3-activity, and the expression of BCL-2-related proteins. The aim of my team is to elucidate the mechanisms through which these kinase inhibitors affect the aforementioned processes and how this can be further exploited in the context of inflammation, angiogenesis, and tumorigenesis.
